This ESSENTIAL provides information on machine approval requirements in Canada. A machine is defined as:
“machinery” means a combination of mechanical parts that transmits from one part to another, or otherwise modifies, force, motion or energy that comes from hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical or electrical reactions or from other sources, and includes vehicles"
This ESSENTIAL does not include requirements regarding to EMC. Information on these topics can be found in the CRF:

The regulatory requirements for electrical safety for machines are based on the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and legislation related to Electrical Safety of Canadian provinces and territories.
There are 14 jurisdictions in Canada - 1 federal, 10 provincial and 3 territorial - each having its own occupational health and safety legislation, outlining the general rights and responsibilities of the employer, the supervisor and the worker.
