Scope of legislation

Radio Communication Act: Valid for Article 4, 5(d), ... (i) radio apparatus, (ii) interference-causing equipment, and (iii) radio-sensitive equipment, RSS-Gen 1. Scope: Radio Standards Specification RSS-Gen, General Requirements for Compliance of radio apparatus, sets out general and certification requirements for licensed and licence-exempt radio apparatus* used for radiocommunication other than broadcasting. “Broadcasting” refers to any radiocommunication in which the transmissions are intended for direct reception by the general public. Except where otherwise specified in the applicable Radio Standard Specification (RSS) (and/or in a Regulatory Standards Notice), radio apparatus shall comply with the specifications and methods prescribed in RSS-Gen. *) The term “radio apparatus” may also be referred to as “device” or “equipment.”'
