China's mandatory product certification system is based on the following laws:

- People's Republic of China Product Quality Certification Regulations
- and other laws and regulations.
Product Quality Law of the People's Republic of China
The Law applies to all production and marketing activities within the territory of the People's Republic of China.
Standardization Law
The Law establishes rules and requirements concerning the formulation, implementation and supervision as well as administration of standards.
