The Boiler Act 2025 is an act to provide for the regulation of boilers, safety of life and property of persons from the danger of explosions of steam-boilers and for uniformity in registration and inspection during manufacture, erection and use of boilers in the country and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto
Is in force since 1st May, 2025 (Notification S.O. 1943(E). from 30. April 2025)
§45 of Boilers Act, 2025: Boilers Act, 1923 is hereby repealed.
The IBR-1950 (Indian Boiler Regulations 1950) generally apply to:-
- all boilers, including those working on the principles of natural circulation, forced circulation and forced flow with no fixed steam water line, and
- to steam pipes.
They established:
- boiler design rules
- approved materials
- inspection systems
- welder qualification rules
- registration procedures
- steam piping requirements
for the entire country.
