TEC has been designated as the Appropriate Authorities
The Telecommunication Engineering Centre and the National Centre for Communication Security, under the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, shall be the Appropriate Authorities
TEC will publish and release standards, rules, and approval procedures.
TEC or a certification body which is on the list of TEC will issue a Certificate of Conformity Assessment.

Safety requirements for radio and telecommunication products
For safety related requirements it is required to meed the BIS Compulsory certification according to Scheme II for many ITE and radio and telecommunication products.
