Federal Consumer Protection Law (LFPC)
Definition (Article 2 - I):
Consumer: the natural or legal person who acquires, makes or enjoys goods, products or services as the final recipient. A consumer is also understood as the natural or legal person who acquires, stores, uses or consumes goods or services with the aim of integrating them into production, transformation, marketing or provision of services to third parties, only for the cases referred to in the articles 99 and 117 of this law.
Electrical Installations (Use)
1.2.1 This NOM covers facilities intended for the use of electrical energy in:
a) Industrial, commercial, housing properties, whatever their use, public and private, and at any of the operating voltage levels, including those used for electrical equipment connected by users. Installations in buildings used by utility companies, such as office buildings, warehouses, parking lots, mechanical workshops, and buildings for recreation purposes.
b) Mobile homes, recreational vehicles, floating constructions, fairs, circuses and exhibitions, parking lots, workshops, meeting places, places of health care, agricultural constructions, marinas and docks.
c) All user facilities located outside buildings;
d) Fixed wiring for telecommunications, signaling, control and the like (excluding the internal wiring of devices);
e) The extensions or modifications to the installations, as well as to the parts of existing installations affected by these extensions or modifications.
Electrical equipment is only considered with respect to its selection and application for the corresponding installation.

Electronic devices-Safety requirements and test methods
1.2 Field of application
This Official Mexican Standard applies to electronic equipment and its accessories that use public service electrical energy for their power, with single-phase supply voltages up to 277 V a.c. at 60 Hz and/or three-phase voltages up to 480 V a.c. between lines at 60 Hz; as well as other energy sources, such as batteries, batteries, accumulators, self-generation and alternative power supplies up to 500 V dc.

- Radio receivers of one or more commercial frequency bands and one or more carrier modulation modalities .
- TV screens of any technology.
- Video projectors, except those associated with data processing equipment or system.
- Sound and/or vision amplifiers.
- Sound and image players and / or recorders of any technology (acetate, magnetic tape, digital discs, digital memories, etc. Such as cameras, dictation equipment, voice recorders, modular equipment, home theaters, sound bars, etc.).
- Speakers with integrated amplifier.
- Remote controls.
- Antenna signal converters and amplifiers.
- CCTV monitors and video monitors that are not associated with data-processing equipment .
- Separate sources for appliance power and battery replacement, electronic uninterruptible power systems (UPS), and battery and battery chargers.
- Electronic musical instruments.
- Electronic accessories such as rhythm generators, tone generators (as individual equipment), synthesizers, musicals and everything that is used with electronic and non-electronic instruments.
- Video games and video game generators that are coupled to T.V. or monitors.
- Electronic toys.
- Professional electronic equipment (cameras, video cameras).
- Active speakers, speakers and baffles.
- Alarm systems and video surveillance.
- Communication systems such as walkie talkies and the like, even if they are considered as toys.
- Educational audio and/or video equipment.
- Video cameras.
- Roundbeds.
- Antenna positioners.
- Civil band team (citizen).
- Intercom equipment that uses the low voltage network as a means of transmission.
- Television receivers.
- Multimedia equipment, which is not a data-processing equipment or is directly associated with a data-processing equipment.
- Electronic flash.
- Entertainment and personal service machines.
- Microwave ovens.
- Money handling machines (Accountants).
Commercial Information for Packaging, Instructions and Guarantees of Electronic, Electrical and Household Appliance products
1.1 Objective
The purpose of this Official Mexican Standard is to establish the commercial information requirements that must be held by packaging, instructions and guarantees for electronic, electrical and household appliance products, as well as their accessories and consumables, intended for the final consumer, when they are marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States.
1.2 Field of application
1.2.1 This Official Mexican Standard is applicable to new, rebuilt, used or second-hand products, as well as spare parts, accessories and consumables that are marketed in the territory of the United Mexican States.
