Geltende Rechtsvorschriften:
1. RoHS
A RoHS legislation (*) does not exist in New Zealand.
However, the Ministery of Environment published guidelines and recommendations for WEEE reuse and recycling operators on their website.
Hazardous Waste Guidelines and the New Zealand Waste List can be found under CRF Chapter "Link/Reference to other reference documents"
(*) EU-RoHS legislation means the restriction of the use of Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent chromium, Polybrominated biphenyls and Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) in certain electrical/electronic products (DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EU).
2. WEEE
Art. 3 Purpose of this Act
The purpose of this Act is to encourage waste minimisation and a decrease in waste disposal in order to
a) protect the environment from harm; and
b) provide environmental, social, economic, and cultural benefits.
Art. 8 - Purpose of Part "Product stewardship"
The purpose of this Part is to encourage (and, in certain circumstances, require) the people and organisations involved in the life of a product to share responsibility for
a) ensuring there is effective reduction, reuse, recycling, or recovery of the product; and
b) managing any environmental harm arising from the product when it becomes waste.
