Geltende Rechtsvorschriften:
The Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1993 intends:
- to provide for the health and safety of persons at work and for the health and safety of persons in connection with the use of plant and machinery;
- the protection of persons other than persons at work against hazards to health and safety arising out of or in connection with the activities of persons at work;
- to establish an advisory council for occupational health and safety; and
- to provide for matters connected therewith.
"machinery" means any article or combination of articles assembled, arranged or connected and which is used or intended to be used for converting any form of energy to performing work, or which is used or intended to be used, whether incidental thereto or not, for developing, receiving, storing, containing; confining, tninsforming, transmitting, transferring or controlling any form of energy;
These Regulations shall apply to the design, manufacture, operation, repair, modification, maintenance, inspection, testing and commissioning of driven machinery.
Following machine types are listed:
- Revolving machinery
- Circular saws
- Band saws and band knives
- Wood -planing machines
- Wood -moulding and mortising machines
- Sanding machines
- Grinding machines
- Shears, guillotines and presses
- Slitting machines
- Mixing, agitating and similar machines
- Rolls and calender rolls
- Washing machines, centrifugal extractors, etc.
- Air compressors
- Refrigeration and air-conditioning installations
- Transportation plants
- Lifting machines, hand -powered lifting devices and lifting tackle
These Regulations shall apply to the designers, manufacturers, installers, sellers, users, employers and suppliers who design, manufacture, install, sell, generate or use electrical machinery.
