Geltende Rechtsvorschriften:
The OSH Act is the overarching legislation for occupational safety and that subordinate regulations cover, among other things, fire prevention, hazardous chemicals and electrical work.
The Act provides the legal basis for subordinate regulations that can directly affect an installation containing Ex equipment:
- Ministerial Regulation on occupational safety concerning electrical work B.E. 2558.
- The OSH framework also contains specific subordinate legislation concerning fire prevention and suppression, issued under the OSH Act.
- No direct Ex product market-access requirement under the OSH Act itself.
The Act itself does not impose a Thai Ex certification requirement. It provides the legal framework under which TISI can make specific industrial products subject to mandatory Thai Industrial Standards (TIS). (Document exists in Thai language only).
Ministerial Regulation prescribing Safety Measures concerning Electrical Systems in Factories B.E. 2550 (2007):
Thai factory legislation requires applicable electrical equipment to comply with relevant Thai Industrial Standards (TIS) and accepted engineering principles. IEC 60079 is used as the technical basis in relevant Thai standards and engineering requirements for explosive atmospheres.
