But there are several US States which have regulations modeled after the EU RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU. This ESSENTIAL gives an overview to the restrictions of certain substances (restricted in EU RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU) on a federal level in the USA.

Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) The CPSIA sets limits for lead content and phthalates in Children’s products. Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) 1278a. Children's products containing lead; lead paint rule. Mercury-Containing and Rechargeable Battery Management Act The purpose of the Act is to phase out the use of mercury in batteries and facilitate the collection and recycling of nickel-cadmium rechargeable, small sealed lead-acid rechargeable, and other regulated batteries. Mercury Export Ban Act of 2008 An act to prohibit the sale, distribution, transfer, and export of elemental mercury, and for other purposes.
